Smart Keyboard on iPad Pro return / enter key not working

The return key on my Smart Keyboard is not working. It cannot send messages in the message app. It cannot even add a line break in the Note app. None response at all. It used to be fine.

The enter key is not used for a command in the Full Keyboard Access.

Smart Keyboard accessory not supported I am still having problems with my Smart Keyboard being recognized by my iPad Pro. I now have TWO smart keyboards and neither one of them are recognized all the time. Sometimes you can type a sentence, then sometimes only two letters, then not at all. Have tried all solutions — turning off/on, re-attaching, rubbing a magnet near where it connects to the keyboard (this works for a couple lines of type, cleaning the attachment….nothing works sustainably. Any way to stop the Return key on an iPad Magic Keyboard from sending messages? For some reason, hitting the “Return” key on the Magic Keyboard causes a message (in the Messages app) to be sent right away instead of just moving down to start a new line like it would on an iPhone or iPad onscreen keyboard. Is there any way to turn off that setting so that the return key on the Magic Keyboard behaves like the return key on an iPhone? (I use numerous iOS devices and I end up accidentally sending partial messages from the iPad because the return key performs a different function when I attach the Magic Keyboard. Maybe there is some good reason to offer that OPTION, but the system should at least offer users the choice of making the hardware keyboard perform exactly the same as the iOS software keyboards.) numbers - virtual keyboards not working everything described on this page: Learn about simplified data entry in Numbers for iPhone and iPad - Apple Support is not working anymore. i just can´t open any other keyboard in numbers, than the one for text. it worked flawless till 2-3 months ago. the symbols on the top left of the keyboard (abc, 123 and the symbol with the hourglass) are never appearing. deleted numbers - reboot - reinstall did nothing.. ty

If you do have Full Keyboard Access turned on, try turning it totally off, just to make sure it is not causing a problem.

Try connecting the Smart Keyboard with another iPad to isolate the issue:

Use your Smart Keyboard Folio or Smart Keyboard with your iPad

If the issue persists, contact Apple Support.
