Unable to Connect to Apple Watch to New iPhone 14 Pro

When setting up my new Iphone 14 Pro, my Apple Watch looked like it went into Update mode and locked up. The only way I could get it to unlock was to put it on the charger. Once I did that, the new iPhone 14 Pro still could not pair with the watch. According to the Apple Support site, I was to unpair the watch from my original iPhone 11 Pro Max and then pair it with the iPhone 14 Pro. When I tried to unpair the watch, I got an error message, but the watch did disappear from My Watches list and is not listed in my Bluetooth list on the old phone. Even after restarting and resetting the watch, it still will not pair with my new iPhone. Any ideas?

Here are two ways to unpair your watch if you no longer have the paired iPhone:

  • See the 'How to erase your Apple Watch if you don't have your iPhone' section of:

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support

  • With a web browser, go to: https://www.iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. Open Find My iPhone and select All Devices (at the top). Then click your Apple Watch, select 'Erase Apple Watch', and select Next until the device is erased. Finally click "X" next to remove your Apple Watch.
