Apple Music on Windows 10 skips songs without playing them

I am using iTunes on Windows 10. I can play back music from my library and Apple Music Radio, but when I play any songs from Apple Music it skips to the next in the list without playing them or any error message. I have tried restarting my computer and signing out and back in to Apple Music. Apple, please fix this long-standing bug. Here are old threads with exactly the same issue:

Hi Nick the Stick,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities.

We understand streaming music played from Apple Music catalog skips. To narrow down the issue, try connecting to a different network or playing from a different device. Create a new user on your computer and check whether the behavior continues there. You can check out instructions for how to do that next to "Add account" here: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

If you can safely do so, disable any security software or connected VPNs that may have set parameters to control how the app works.

Contact Apple Support if this behavior continues.
