Bluetooth Keyboard won't work at login screen on MacBook Pro but will on MacBook Air

I have a Logitech MX Keys bluetooth keyboard. My MacBook Air at login connects to both this keyboard and another bluetooth keyboard I use at login without an issue and I can type in the password at startup. However, my MacBook Pro won't allow my MX Keys to login at the login screen. After I login using the built-in laptop keyboard, it's fine.

I see there is a message in the Apple Community Bulletin Boards saying it's the OS - but if that were true then my MacBook Air would have the same issue and it doesn't. Does anyone know why one works at the login screen and the other doesn't with the same OS? And, if there is a fix?

Thank you.

Hey MerrilyAlice,

That's really good to know, and trying with a different keyboard definitely helps to narrow this down more. To continue narrowing this down, let's refresh the Bluetooth settings and ensure your other Mac isn't causing interference. To do that, first shut down your MacBook Air while testing. Here's a guide on shutting down, just in case: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

Then unpair your keyboard and set it up again for fresh connections. Here's a guide with those steps too: Connect a Bluetooth device with your Mac - Apple Support

Let us know how it goes.

Take care!
