Amazon Prime Not Working on AppleTV 4K

After many years of working great, suddenly having problems with Amazon Prime on the AppleTV 4K.

I tried deleting and reinstalling the Prime Video app and restarting the AppleTV, but no luck. When I try to open Prime Video, sometimes I get an error message in German, followed by a black screen. Sometimes I can click through the black screen and see the sign in options — and sometimes after that I can navigate to and watch something BUT all the icons don’t load and even the “play now” buttons don’t actually render.

havent been able to find any help for this
