When I click the "Update Now" button, I get directed to the setting page again and the update does not start downloading. I have done this multiple times but with no resolution.

This was resolved.
I downloaded Xcode within the past 28 hours and it seems Xcode update was added to the update stack like this:
So I chose to select just the Xcode alone and the update worked
And then after that, installed the os update

The settings page becomes blank after clicking on "Update Now"
