Loud noise notification without loud noise

Is anyone getting a loud noise notification but you’re NOT in a loud environment?

Ever since yesterday afternoon the watch keeps notifying me. I muted it for today but I don’t know how to “fix” it so to speak. As I type this I’m sitting in a quiet room and all I hear is birds chirping, it notified me.

Any suggestions before I hit up the Apple Store?

Apple Watch Series 8, watchOS 9

High recorded noise levels could be either a faulty microphone, or hallucination in the software. I suggest you test the watch's microphone by making a test call to someone who will report back whether there is noise when you are not speaking. If the call is clear you are probably dealing with a software glitch.

Remember that a low level sound very close to the mic may be detected as a loud noise. For example, if you tap with your fingernail or a pen top on the watch casing it will hardly reach your ear but the watch interprets it as much louder from greater distance. I would try to expand the timescale for the sound level bars if possible and look whether it is constant false noise, or simply a few short transient sounds which are distorting the picture.

Oh gosh i have same thing today on my walk and no loud noise. The wind is there tho and it says loud qhen it blows hard but still by far this wind is not that hard and def cannot do hearing damage. Like its a summers day and the wind is slightly gusty. Im glad u mentioned wind because if i turn microphone and see how its reacting to wind its saying “too loud” over that mark when it blows. Im wearing a tshirt and cannot wearblong sleeve in this weather. Come on apple this is dumb.

I’m having the same problem. It just started yesterday(4/23/23) and went completely crazy! I’ve had my watch for less than 6 weeks and it hasn’t had any impacts or damage, it is up to date on updates, and I’ve tried turning it off and on again.

Troubleshooting has not worked yet, so I have turned the notifications off for now. But I’d prefer to find a fix and have a working feature.

Hoping it’s just a random glitch!
