My iPhone and iPad are not syncing

My iPhone and iPad are not syncing. After deleting emails on my iPad, I need to do it all over on my iPhone. In the past, when one device was used, the deletions would update and “disappear “ when the other device checked for emails.

My iPad and iPhone emails were no longer syncing either, recently. I deleted my gmail account setup on my iPad and added it back in. Did the same thing on my iphone. That fixed the issue. Now my Gmail email accounts are back in sync on my devices.
