New IPhone 14 : Defective phone?

I purchased a new IPhone 14 in Dec and realised soon enough in Jan that it has charging issues (5 hours for full charge). I took it to the Apple service Center and they basically only updated my phone to ios16 a few days later the charging issue started again. Despite of several attempts to reach out to Apple Service team the issue remains unresolved and now my phone does not charge over 45% at all. Anybody else faced such an issue with their iPhone 14? I am starting to believe I was given a defective phone. How can I resolve my issue effectively?

First: see if optimized charging is on. You might want to turn that off to see if the problem persists

Settings > Battery > Battery Health & Charging and turn off Optimized Battery Charging.

Make sure to turn it on afterwards, it is an important feature to save battery health!

If this is not working, please force restart your iPhone to see if the problem persists

  1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.
  3. Press and hold the side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the side button.
