How Do I Remove Messages from iCloud?

If you sync messages with iCloud and if you delete texts on your device, they are also deleted in iCloud. There is no need to delete them in iCloud.com. In my experience, text messages don’t take up a significant amount of space in the overall scheme of things.

Go into Settings>Your Name>iCloud>Manage Account Storage and look to see what is taking up the space.

OK, now what happens when you tap on Messages under the Manage Account Storage section? What do you see there?

Something else you can try that is easy to do and won’t hurt anything is to force restart your phone. Sometimes a forced restart can clear up weird issues on your device.

Wow, I must say in all the years I’ve been using and answering questions Apple gear, I’ve never seen messages take anywhere near that amount of space.

If you tap “Manage Account Storage” as shown in your screenshot, do you see “Messages”? Can you tap there and find a delete option?

I believe this did nothing regarding your iCloud storage. Deleted messages are kept around for a while in a Trash area.

I agree with sberman. I’ve never seen messages take up that much space. Did you try what we both suggested?
