Exporting and Deleting messages to clean up storage
My iCloud storage is too full and I need to delete old messages. I can not find them on iCloud. How do I do this from my ipad?

Are you certain your messages are housed there? That is not the default.

If in fact they are there, use the Messages app to delete them and then follow the instructions at “Permanently remove recently deleted messages and attachments“ here.

I do not house my messages in iCloud, so I’m not sure this will work. It does work for other data housed in iCloud.
On your iPad, go to Settings > [your Apple Account] > iCloud > Storage > Messages. There is likely a “Delete Data From iCloud” option there.
Yes, it says I have 250,000 messages in ICloud. What I want to do is to export some of the conversations to a pdf to print. Is this even possible? And I’d like to delete but I can’t see a way to do it outside of deleting message by message. Am I missing something?
