Let's check to see if any of the advanced file sharing options could be preventing a connection:

Use advanced file sharing options to set the protocol and other options for each shared file.

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click General  in the sidebar, then click Sharing on the right. (You may need to scroll down.)
2. Turn on File Sharing, then click the Info button  on the right.
3. Control-click the name of the shared folder, then choose Advanced Options.
4. Select advanced options:

• Allow guest users.
• Only allow SMB encrypted connections.
• Share as a Time Machine backup destination.

5. Click OK, then click Done."

Log in to your Mac from another computer

1. On the other computer, open the Terminal app  (if it’s a Mac) or an SSH client.

2. Type the ssh command, then press Return.

5. The hostname can be an IP address or a domain name. For example, if your user name is steve, and your computer’s IP address is 10.1.2.3, enter the following:

7. Enter your password, then press Return.

Find the SSH command to use to log in to your Mac from another computer

3. Note the SSH command shown below the “Remote Login: On” indicator.
