You don't, you can only leave a group imessage that consist of 3 or more people.

Ask the sender to create a new thread and omit you from it.

If there were Android users in the group, the group was a SMS/MMS group, not an iMessage group.

Edit: On second thought, I believe I understand. You were mentioning that an iMessage group is the only group that you can leave, if it consists of three or more people. My apologies.
