Old Magic Mouse new Mac Mini

I'm setting up my new Mac Mini and it doesn't appear to recognize my Magic Mouse from my 2015 iMac. The mouse works fine on the iMac and I have no reason to replace it.

Will I have to?

Yes, better. It’s old-tech, insecure & not very energy-efficient.
