Macbook Pro HDR on external monitor

This was working before, and I'm still using the same monitor and cable. But with the macbook (2021 16" MBP M1 Max, Ventura 13.2.1) in clamshell, I don't have the HDR option. If I open the laptop and have the screen mirrored to the external, then I can have HDR, and I can see that HDR works on the external! But if I turn off mirroring, the HDR option goes away on the external monitor. Monitor is ASUS PG43U.

I'm running the monitor directly connected through a displayport cable.

2019 Mackbook Pro - Dual Monitors showing the same display I have a 2019 mackbook pro with two external monitors via hdmi with a novoo port adapter connected via usbc. Both Monitors are displaying the same screen. I do not have an option to mirror or extend displays in the system settings display. I am running Sequoia 15.3.2
