My phone got stolen in France a few weeks ago. I've gotten multiple text messages in the last week, that my iPhone was located, and sent a link to the website finds-assistance.com
Of course, I considered this a phishing attempt. but then later, I noticed that apple's own text messages are also sent from the same number.
So, does anybody know what's going on? Is this website legit? Is apple telling me that my phone is located?
The messages are not from Apple. Instead, they are from someone that has your phone. They are sending the messages in an attempt to steal your Apple ID and password.

yes, that's what I thought at first too. But why is it from the same number as apple? And how did they know my number?
Because the scammer is spoofing the number to sucker you into falling for their scam.
