Keynote v12.2.1 does not recognize Sony a7iii camera as a video source.

iMac Retina 5K, 21-inch, 2017

macOS Ventura, version 13.2

Keynote, version 12.2.1

I have connected my Sony a7iii camera using a USB-C cable. The camera is recognized and can be used as a webcam with several apps such as OBS, CleanShot X, Zoom, etc. But, Keynote fails to recognize its existence - it does not show as a connected source device.

Does Keynote require something more or is it simply not compatible with external cameras, like other Mac apps?

is there something more that requires configuration to enable Keynote to see the a7iii as an audio/video source?

Hello Daddo_Mac,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to use your Sony camera with Keynote on your Mac. After looking at the Keynote User Guide for Mac, you may need to follow the steps below:

"You can change the sources connected to a live video object on your slide if you have more than one set up in your presentation.

1. Click the live video on the slide to select it.

2. Click , then click Live Video.

3. Click the Source button, then select a new source from the menu.

4. To dismiss the menu, click away from it."
