Apple TV / PVR/ tv

My setup used to be: I have cable connected to my tv, I have my PVR connected to my tv via HDMI cable and I have a Google Chromecast connected to an HDMI port in my tv. I use my tv’s remote to switch Input 1 (PVR) to Input 2 (Chromecast) and back again. However, I’ve just bought an Apple TV to substitute for the Chromecast but when I want to watch one or the other I have to switch the HDMI cable from the PVR to the Apple TV and am hoping there’s an easier way to connect them?

Thanks, however the Apple TV is to replace the Chromecast. I discovered I just need another HDMI cable to have both the PVR and Apple TV connected and switch between Input 1 and Input 2 as I’m used to.

if your tv only have 2 hdmi ports and you wish to keep both the pvr and chromecast connected two then your only 2 options are

  1. switch cables like you do now
  2. take your changes with hdmi switches which is 1 hdmi to the tv and two connectors you can connect the appletv and chrome cast to and click the button to switch between the two, though mind you not all hdmi swithces play nicely with HDCP which would be a huge problem
