My apple pencil is damaged

i have an apple pencil and i’ve had it for about a year now. it’s been working great. however, one of my family members recently sat on it and now it has this dent. it is also irregularly warm where the dent is, the two-tap tool switch feature is broken, and the battery drains fast. it’s also somewhat bent, but i’ve managed to mostly straighten it. however, the warmth in the damaged area, the short battery life, and the lack of the two-tap function is concerning me. i use the Pencil mostly for art, meaning i need to use it for extended periods of time. the warmth makes it very uncomfortable to hold, as it’s right in the spot where i usually place my hand, and the short battery life is annoying because i need to frequently charge the pencil now. and the two-tap function is gone, which removes am extremely convenient feature that i used all the time. what do i do? is it possible to exchange this Pencil for a new one? are there any companies that can perhaps fix this issue?

Your one-year limited warranty does not cover accidental damage.

Other than the user-replaceable Pencil tip, which should be changed as soon as visible wear becomes apparent, the Pencil has no serviceable parts. If damaged, the only remedy is replacement.

If you have benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan for your iPad, your Pencil may benefit from this cover. AppleCare+ is an optional additional cost insurance product - that does provide coverage for accidental damage. AppleCare+ can only be purchased within 60-days of original iPad purchase - and cannot be added retrospectively.

I've sat on my 2nd generation Pencil countless times, it's still in perfect working order. When you say you've "managed to mostly straighten it” what do you mean...? The body is plastic - do you mean that the metal prong where the tip attaches is bent...?

"Is it possible to exchange this Pencil for a new one?”

No. Apple offers no warranty for the Pencil. Apple warranties (AppleCare) only cover technical issues, not accidents damage.

"Are there any companies that can fix this issue?”

No

Your only option is to purchase a new one.
