iPad Pro slow to render images

Hi,

I have a 2nd Gen iPad pro 11"

It is often very slow to render webpage images. The image is just blank for a while, then appears but pixellated, then it finally renders it properly. It can take a couple of minutes sometimes.

It seems to be more common on the UK BBC website or Facebook, but not exclusively.

WiFi signal is strong using the 5GHz band (albeit only 28mbps d/l)

The problem is not evident on my old Asus Android tablet or Xiaomi phone, or my wifes iPad so its maybe a setting on the iPad.

Anybody else had similar?
