Photos running in background draining battery

I have not started the photos app. My photos are not backing up to icloud. The Photos app is not enabled at login. It's not available to force quit -- yet it's using battery.

OSX 13.2.1

I see that this has been a recurrent problem. How to fix?

Photos App freezes I have a 2020 13" MacBook Pro at OSX 10.15.7. the latest version of Catalina. Since going to Catalina, the Photos app will freeze. The only thing I can do to unfreeze it is force quit Photos and restart it. I have 16GB of memory on the MacBook Pro, keep my Photos library in iCloud, and have less that a thousand images.

How can I prevent Photos from loading each time I log on to my macbook? After digitizing many photos and importing them into Photos app, I now have the minor, but annoying, issue of Photos loading every time I wake the MacBook. Brand new M1 MacBook Air, Photos is already eating battery? Hello all: I have opened my brand new M1 MacBook Air yesterday!! (03Aug21). I have even setup the "Photos" app. But that is the ONLY app that is eating "significant energy". How do I get rid of this? Please help.
