iPhone starting adding US +1 when I input my phone number

Why has my iPhone starting adding US +1 to my phone number? It’s screwing everything up.

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 16

Try changing the setting at Settings > Phone > Dial Assist.

Thanks for your interest.

Same thing happens - when I tap on the login field (can put in email address or phone number as my login) and tap on a number to put in my phone number, the US 1+ is filled in immediately instead the number I pressed and before I can actually enter anything at all. If I continue to enter my phone number the US 1+ makes my login is invalid and I can’t log on to the site.

Why is this happening no matter whether dial assist is on or off?

Thanks

“Login” … to what?

  • Something Apple related? Consider telling us what it is, and how you got to this point?
  • Something not related to Apple? Might the requestor be placing the prefix there for you?
