why can't others view names i've assigned in shared library?

I have placed photos with faces and names, into my shared library. why can't others view the names i've assigned to faces in their view of the shared library?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

Are you asking about shared albums? Your system version is shown as "macOS 10.12", but the shared library is only available on macOS 12 Ventura, not on the much older macOS 10.12 Sierra. There you could only use Shared albums, but not the Shared Library, and Photos will remove most of the metadata, when photos are added to Shared albums.


But even for a Shared Library on macOS 13 Ventura, only the photos will be shared, but none of the albums and folders. The People album is not shared.
