stop text messages from syncing to Mac Air (purchased2023).

I am have text msg's going straight to my new Mac air instead of my iPhone 14 pro. I have tried to disable on my Mac and iPhone but having no success. as a result im not seeing important msgs. I have tired to trouble shoot and using already published apple support instructions but some do not apply as I don't have text msg forwarding on my iPhone and I also don't like to use iMessage so I've turned that off. I have turned off allow msg notifcation's on my Mac but im still having issues. how do I fix this asap. steps I have found online have not helped me in any way.

Hi pinkpeaches1432,

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

1. It seems like all messages are appearing only on your Mac, and none are showing on your iPhone, is that correct?

2. When did this issue begin? Were any changes made to your devices or settings before this happened?

3. Are you able send messages on your iPhone without an issue?

The above details will help us plan how to proceed.

We know you mentioned that you don't have Text Message Forwarding enabled; just to confirm, did you confirm that by using the process in the link you came from? Forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your Mac or iPad

"When someone sends you an SMS or MMS message on your iPhone, it appears as a green bubble, and iMessages appear as blue bubbles. When you set up Text Message Forwarding, you can send and receive the SMS and MMS messages from your iPhone on any device that meets the Continuity system requirements."

You can confirm that setting is off on your iPhone by going to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding.

Thank you.
