Cannot 'Slide to Unlock'

Cannot 'Slide to Unlock' once in a while when an incoming phone call comes in. Happens maybe once a week on my iphone 4 and happened about the same with my original iphone before that. I can't seem to recreate this problem in order to troubleshoot. I have to let the call go to voice mail and then it will open. Anyone else experience this?

Apple has replaced 3 iPhone 4's for me all due to the slide to unlock not working. This last iPhone 4 I received at the genius bar came with 4.2.1. For 3 months the phone performed flawlessly, but I secumbed to 4.3.3 when it was released and imediately after the install the slide to unlock was NOT responsive.

Not sure what this says other than it seems to be either a 4.3.3 issue OR something is corrupting the software updates in iTunes.

I have just received my 4th IPhone 4 today, in 7 months. After talking with Apple and entering contacts,I thought I was ready to go. My first call that came in, a call I needed to take, the phone would not unlock and let me answer. Since then, it has happened 3 more times tonight on me. It isn't anything I am putting on the phone. I restored the phone as new, with the latest update. I haven't loaded any apps yet. There is something inherently wrong with the phones and Apple will not openly address the issue. They tell me there are no problems with the phones and they are wrong.

The only thing that has stayed the same with all the phones is my sim card. They say that would not cause the problem.

I'm done with the phone. Tomorrow I have to buy another, more dependable phone, at full cost.

I guess it's you that will be answering the call?! Why don't you experience what we have gone through with these iPhone 4's and maybe you'll understand my attitude towards their lack of addressing issues.

My company admits to and adresses it's mistakes with immediate priority, we seek solutions and fix them, we DON'T tell customers..."well thats the first time we've seen this problem"!!!

Never have liked this forum,

good luck.

Hello,

It's defninetly the 4.3.x OS the probleme, my phone worked flawlessly from october 2010 to mars 2011 when i was on the previous OS 4.2.x ! they replaced my phone already 3 time and each time the same problem. I tried everything possible and imaginable :

* restoring without backup.

* remove the screen protection and the case.

* running without any application on the new phones

* changing my sim card.

* ect ..

I am in a contact with a senior tech with apple care and he is supposed to get back to me and possibly contact an engeneer from apple. I am trying to convince them that I go back to 4.2.1, he said their is a way that they can do it but it's not their procedure.

I went yesterday to apple store since i din't have any news from the senior tech to apple store to convince them to go back to 4.2.1 but no luck.

ios 4.3.4 (8k2)

in my experiences I don't think depends from position in the pocket o finger wet o anything else I may suppose. In my experiences happens also with the iphone simply on my desk, with screen up or down... My frustraction is Apple Care that received my iPhone for maintenance and deny replacement, assuring that they don not recognize this matter. But somebody else in AppleCare reads this discussions...? or many other post on different internet forums...?
Really wait for next IOS...and pray !!

I have the same problem. On ATT in Austin. It has been happening for about 6 months. at one point I took it back to the Apple Store and they swapped it out for a new one. I did a complete new setup AND had my SIM replaced. It still does it! When every 4-5 call cannot be answered this is a HUGE annoyance! Leaving me no option other than to go get another phone.

What's the problem here?
