what is the "maintenancetool.app"

This seems to have been added to my applications folder by a art program company called EscapeMotions. I have no idea what it is for, and can't get an answer from them. It has changed how icons respond when viewing a painting file to where it originally would show the painting in small size to now just a blank sheet.

Can I delete it? What does it do?
