Family Watches

I set up an Apple Watch for my child on my phone. She can see Text sent to me. Every place I look at just says she should see the text sent to her. What am I missing?

Daughter’s Apple Watch SE not receiving text messages We have SE 2nd generation watches for my kids with a cellular plan. Over the last few weeks my daughter has not been receiving text messages, or if she does, they are hours or days later. Tonight I have paired/unpaired multiple times and even performed a reset on her watch. I have noticed that her watch is only able to receive SMS messages and not iMessages. Meaning, if I text from my iPhone the message is sent as a green bubble and she receives it. But if her brother messages her from his watch, it goes through as a blue bubble but she never receives it. Not will she receive a message sent to both watches. Don’t know what else to do

When you set up a watch for a family member can you send SMS text messages or just iMessages? I want to purchase a watch for my kid and do family setup. Can they message someone with an android phone on the watch without being paired to their own phone?

11 year olds .... Watch for safety and travel / ipad at home for communication with friends. How to limit messages on watch. I have yet to find any help with this question ... I bought a watch for my daughter to walk home from school & have apple pay . When I connected it to her AppleID she immediately was able to text with all her contacts on the go. This is not how i intended her to use it . She has screen time (communication limits) on her ipad at home but i dont want her using the watch to constantly text while on the go. Not to mention that texting from the watch does not count towards screen time. Any solutions ? I have spoken to 3 different people at apple support and they had no solution for me. Please help . Thank you

Are you and your child using the same Apple ID? If yes, you should NOT be using the same Apple ID.
