Sign In to App Store shows wrong Apple ID Wrong email address

Hello,

I have a new Iphone and trying to install or update new app but the App Store is referring to the wrong Apple ID (email address), can you please help ? I don't see this email address anyone on my Apple ID website.

I can't delete the app since it's not installed. For the ones that needs update I could delete them and reinstall but for the new ones, it still refer to old/wrong email address?

Thanks a lot,

Karima

HI Tammy,

Much appreciated you took time to get back to me.

Yes I also had checked that part, and clicking on "Media & Purchases", I got 3 options : Sign Out, Password Settings, and View Account. Clicking View Account I see first line on top Apple ID with the right email address and not the old one. This is just crazy and don't see where I can remove the old one I can't retrieve anywhere :( What where did I miss it ? Really hope someone can find the solution for this mystery ;) Thanks again to the community.

Hello Karimad04,

When you view your purchase history with your current Apple ID, are you seeing the app listed there? View your purchase history for the App Store, iTunes Store, and other Apple media services - Apple Support

If not, you can delete the app from your iPhone, then “Get” or purchase it again:

All the best.

Thanks SnickZ and to the community, really appreciated you took the time to get back to me !

My problem is fixed, it seems that during the automated transfer process from my old Iphone to the new one, it took my old Apple ID address linked to some apps. So in the Purchase & Media I had to "Sign Out", go back to the App Store and it asked me to Sign In, added my new current Apple ID address and it fixed it :) Allelluia!

Thanks a lot guys for your kind support!

Hey Karimad04,

The older iPhone likely wouldn't be what's causing your old Apple ID email address to be requested. This normally happens when you download/install an app using a different Apple ID. In your search, did you check the Apple ID that's signed in under the Media & Purchases area that's shown in your screenshot? If not, double-check the correct Apple ID is signed in there.

Keep us posted.

Take care!

Hello Karimad04,

Since the issue is happening when trying to install new apps, as well as update existing apps, it seems like the correct Apple ID may not be signed in on your device.

Please ensure the correct Apple ID account is signed in on your device by using the process outlined here, which may help: Sign in with your Apple ID

Sign in with your Apple ID

Your Apple ID is the account that you use to access all Apple services and make all of your devices work together seamlessly. After you sign in, you can use the App Store, iCloud, iMessage, Apple Music, Apple TV+, and more.

* Sign in on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
* Sign in on your Mac
* Sign in on your Apple TV
* Sign in on the web
* Sign in on apps and other devices

Want to use Sign in with Apple on third-party apps or websites? Learn how to use Sign in with Apple

Sign in on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap Sign in to your [device].

On iPhone, sign in to your Apple ID in the Settings app

3. Enter your Apple ID and password.
4. If prompted, enter the six-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number and complete sign in.

If you're already signed in to iCloud on the iPhone paired with your Apple Watch, you will automatically be signed in to that Apple ID. Learn more about how to set up and sign in to your Apple Watch

Thanks!

Thanks a lot Brittany for your reply. Actually I did check that and my right Apple ID (email address) is well popping up at the top of the screen in the "Settings" on my new device. I've been looking at all sections to see if my previous email address (appleID) is appearing but it's not the case.

It's just a real mystery why this old email is appearing and how to get rid of it.

I'm just wondering if it has to do with the fact that my "old iphone" is still registered, maybe I need to remove it, see printshot? I didn't remove since I was still accessing some apps on the old Iphone SE (2) but also on the setting of my old phone I didn't find the old email address?

Maybe the solution to find there?

Thanks a lot!

Karima
