Messages search by date: Once it was possible, then impossible, a few years later spotlight was added, but now (16.3.1) those adjustments in settings disappeared and again made it impossible. You would think feature-obsessed Apple would restore actual useful features like this, but heavens no.
What am I missing?

I don’t ever recall that the Messages app on the iPad had the search by date feature. That doesn’t mean that it was never there. It just means that I do not remember ever having it.
