Any problems with iPod Touch update to 4.0.2?

I was hesitant about updating my 2G Touch to iOS4 because of all the problems others were having. Now that 4.0.2 is out I wanted to know if anyone else with a 2G has downloaded it and if they had any problems with media being deleted or anything like that. I'd hate to download it and my iPod freezes or my songs get deleted. Thanks!

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.6.4), n/a

Issues here...loaded new version from iTunes...now it won't transfer all my photos from Mac to iTouch...says did not transfer photos because iTouch is full...it's not, still has 5G left of the available 16G. Restored iTouch, seemed to initially fix problem...but, just created a new playlist on iTunes, went to sync and got same message about the photos not syncing due to being out of space....and it went back to photos save on iTouch prior to the restore process....major headache!!

No major issues with update to 4.0.2 on two iPod Touch 2G. I am having an odd clock issue though. Here's what it's doing. Say the date is 8/25/2010 12:00AM. I want to change the clock to 8/26/2010 12:00AM. I goto settings. Change the date. Great. Now that my iPod is set to 8/26/2010 I want to move ahead an hour so that the date/time is 8/26/2010 1:00AM. As soon as I enter the "General" screen on settings, my iPod changes to the current date an time. So to move ahead a day and an hour, now I have to change the date AND the clock instead of just the clock like I could do before the update. While not earth shattering, it is annoying. Any ideas? Thanks.

I have not had any luck so far with this problem. If my IPOD was still under warranty or I had Apple Care I could get technical, but otherwise Apple doesn't want to talk to me. I did talk to a tech at my local Apple store and she suggested bringing it in to the store and have it looked at. I would have to set up an appointment to do it. My last back up is pushing 3 weeks old and I have done everything except restore my IPOD and I don't want to do that. If you hear anything else, please pass it on. Good luck.

I have a 2nd gen iPod touch, and I'm on my 3rd one in 2 weeks. See, I tried to download the latest update, and at first I thought it was my computer system or that my iPod was old. I went to the apple store, explained the idea, so I got another one as this was under warranty. I came home, got all hooked up, and during the update, after extracting info and restoring, an ERROR popped up, and the screen went blank.
I tried everything I could find on here, but basically the iPods were dead, and my computer under device status read:
No drivers are installed for this device.

I just came home with my 3rd 2nd get touch in 2 weeks, and I'm going to avoid this new update like the plague. I miss the old update with my facebook, twitter, and nike+ app! Apple fix this mess!!!!!

I just got my iPod Touch today and tried to update it to 4.0.2 as my iTunes program suggested. Both the iTunes program and the iPod got hung up. I had to utilize task manager to exit the iTunes program and the iPod is now stuck on a screen with the apple logo and a stuck progress bar. Nothing at all will restore the iPod. I guess I'll try talking with a Genius tomorrow...so far I am very not amused with my first Apple product.

I've got a 2nd gen and I'm in the "iPod won't turn on" category. When I ran the update I got the "iPod will restart" message. But, of course,it didn't turn back on and I can't even reset it. When I plug it into the computer, a message pops up that an unknown device error message pops up and that's it.

Of course, my warranty ran out last month. Someone else said they replaced it at an Apple Store when it was out of warranty? Has anyone else had any luck doing that? The nearest store here is over an hour away and I don't want to waste my time if all they say is "tough luck."

Have any of you experienced any issues with battery life? My 1-and-a-half year old 2nd generation iPod touch's battery has been acting up on me recently. The battery charge level is full when I fully charge it on the wall adapter, but within 7-8 hours after the charge (after unplugging the iPod from the wall charger), it drops to 6%. Not to mention that the iPod was in sleep mode for the whole time.

I turned off Location Services, but Wi-Fi is a must for me, since my iPod is a cell phone substitute, since I don't have my own cell phone at this time.

Have any of you had any of these problems, or something similar? I don't have any other issues with iOS 4.0.2; everything else works perfectly fine for me, my only gripes about the OS are that I can't multitask or have wallpapers.

Yes, I have my mail to notify me hourly. However, app notifications are also a must for me. I have texting and Facebook apps on my iPod so that it could act like a cell phone.

I have never had any problems with batteries. I always had longer battery life than this, even longer when not in use. Push notifications never gobbled up my battery like this, and neither did fetching new data for e-mail.

I don't know why my iPod's battery decided to just go almost completely flat in 7-8 hours. When I unplug it after fully charging it overnight (I sometimes leave it connected to the wall adapter for hours, even after it was completely charged), the battery is at 96-98%. It then increases to 100%, then starts to decrease over time with iPod use.

This was not the case recently. Sure, the battery level still goes from 96-98% to 100%, but then I unplug the iPod, make sure to put it in sleep mode, set it on a table clear of metal objects, and head off for school. I come home from school, wake the iPod, and what do you know. The battery drained from 100% to 6%, even if it hasn't been used at all. The only thing that changed from before school to after school was the number of e-mails I got, just one.

Location services: Off
Wi-Fi: On, for 24/7 (cannot turn it off, due to iPod acting like a phone)
Fetch New Data: Push (hourly, for 2 e-mail accounts)

Those are my settings that could affect my battery life in either way.

Any problems with iPod Touch update to 4.0.2?
