I have follow the instructions in the app help center to update my macos from 10.6 to 12.6 but the software is not updated after even when it restart and it come up with 10.6 again as the exact softer updated recently.
How do I update my software from the previous version to the new and the required of most application that I want to install on my MacBook
That's a bit confusing, because 10.6 (10.10.6) would be Yosemite, but Yosemite, never received a .6 update version. It stops at 10.5. So, I'm a little confused at what you are looking at exactly.
Also any Mac running 10.6 Yosemite, would not be able to run 12.6 Monterey so, the installer would not even download.
Unless by 12.6 you actually mean 10.12.6 Sierra.
Where in Apple Menu ➜ About this Mac are you seeing this 10.6? Are you sure it's 10.6? Maybe its 13.6? or something else?
Again, what model / year of Mac do you have?
Can you post a screen shot of the About this Mac screen please? Remove the serial number and other personal info it may have.

When I update, install and restart my system and I click on the appli icon to view the system about and I find our that the system is still the same software version which is 10.6
