usb-c video out stopped working / cant connect to external displays

Both external monitors stopped receiving video from IMAC. Tried all the basics plug /unplug - restart - option/connect display to no avail.


Ventura 13.2.1

IMAC retina 5K 2019

Thanks for you input.

I ran the Diagnostic (hold down "D" on start up) and there were no errors reported.

What ultimately fixed the problem and what I learned should have been the first course of action was a full power cycle:


Disconnect all cables from IMAC.

Disconnect power cable from IMAC

Wait 15 Seconds minimum

Reconnect Power cable

Reconnent ethernet

Restart

Reconnect monitor cables.

NVRAM (or PRAM) is a small amount of memory that your Mac uses to store and quickly access certain system settings such as sound volume, display resolution, startup-disk selection, and time zone. These settings vary by Mac and the devices you're using with it.
