sold one to a friend. they can't use it because its still listed on my acct. How can I fix this?

How can I secure my Apple TV from theft? Is there anyway to Prevent someone from taking my Apple TV and resetting as their own?? I recently learned my son had a shady friend who constantly made jokes about stealing my Apple TV.. I hope he’s kidding but that got me thinking.. he COULD walk out of house with it and sign me out then sign himself in and pretend it’s his. What safety features does Apple have to prevent anyone from signing you out of your Apple TV and claiming it as their own?? Can I lock this thing down somehow through the settings so that it would be virtually useless if someone did attempt to steal it?? And what about tracking it on Find My?? Suggestions anyone??
