Which cable do I need to connect my Mac mini to a Dell monitor?

I have this cable on order from Amazon

Which usb cable should I order

Then use a second USB cable to the displays built-in USB hub.

The Monitor is also new received about a week ago/

 Dell Ultra Sharp 34 Curved USB-C Hub Monitor - U3423WE, 86.72cm (34.14"), Spkr

The ports on the Mac Mini are:

 1 Power, 1  ethernet,  4 thunderbolt , 1 HDMI, 2 USB-A,   and a head phone jack

The ports on the  Dell monitor are :

1 power, 1 HDMI, 1 display , 1 USB 10, 2 super speed USB10 , speaker port

Here is what I Have tried:

HDMI on the Mac Mini to HDMI on the monitor

HDMI on the Mac mini to the display port  on the monitor

Neither of these worked 

Thank you. I don't have a lot of knowledge on different cables and am having a hard time understanding your solution

I can look on Amazon for an 8K USB-C to DisplayPort cables. and hope I am getting a good one. For the second USB cable what kind is it. I think there are different version of the usb cable.

I have received the cables and have them attache and nothing works

I have on cable running from a thunderbolt port on the mac mini to the dell display port #5

I have one cable running from the mini  to   the super speed  # 6 

And I am at a loss

I have that on order also. I just hope I cane get them installed when they were here

I have no problem hooking the HDMI to both units

but don't know which is the Mac minis A port

That is where I have it plugged in. mBut when Intern on the Mac mini and. the monitor I don any results except for the language choices on the right hand which come up with no cables attached.
