Wi-fi

So my phone, iphone 13, shut off randomly in the middle of class yesterday and it just went black and had a little loading circle on it but the circle was frozen. Then I took it home and let it die because that is what my friends told me to do and while it was dying I switched sim cards of this phone to my old other phone, iphone XR. I used it for the day but had no internet at school but I do have internet only if I’m connected to wi-fi. I got home from school and changed my sim card back to this phone and it only works when connected to wi-fi. What am I supposed to do to get it to work while in my car driving or in the middle of the highway?

iPhone 13, iOS 16

Hello camnelly1122,

Based on the situation you described, we have an idea on what might be going on with your iPhone 13 not connecting to your cellular data. Since you've switched the SIM card out and back in, you may need to re enable your cellular line. Let's work from this resource, particularly if you see No Service, Searching, or SOS: If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings > Cellular.
  2. Make sure 'Turn On This Line' is enabled.
  3. Make sure Cellular Data is also enabled.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to install any iOS updates.
  5. Restart your iPhone.
  6. Test your cellular connection.

If you still aren't able to connect to cellular data, check the other tips in that article for help. If you get a specific error or have questions, reply back here.

Take care.
