My button to show lyrics isn’t working?

lyrics in Apple Music For the past few weeks, I’ve been unable to view lyrics in Apple Music on my iPhone. The button is not normally visible, but when it is and I tap it, nothing happens. Any suggestions?

Changes to music app after update to iOS 17.1.2 on 9th gen iPad I updated to iOS 17.1.2 and now my alphabet index for music is gone when I create a new playlist or edit an existing one. On the right hand side of my songs listing, the alphabet was displayed so that I could quickly skip to songs beginning with that letter. That feature appears to have disappeared. It also is a bit odd that to add music, I don’t select the “+” sign, that is to the left of “Add Music”, but instead select the “Add Music” text. It also is at the bottom of the playlist and prior to the update it was at the top of the playlist. It is preferred to have it at the top. Also, when I am playing music and my Home Screen goes to sleep, I still see the song that I have chosen to play, in a mini song play view, but the volume indicator is missing. I thought both features appeared in prior iOSes. An enhancement to think about. It would be nice if the notes app had an index like the song listing has. This would be very convenient to be able to skip to a note that begins with a specific letter.

Hi JackandEm,

Does this happen on multiple songs that you expect to have lyrics? Or songs where you do see lyrics on other devices?

We ask as some songs may not have lyrics available. The following is an excerpt from the article you read before posting:

See lyrics and sing in Apple Music on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"If you don't see lyrics on your iPhone or iPad

If the Lyrics button is grayed out, you’re playing a song that's not from the Apple Music catalog, lyrics aren’t available for that song, or you're not connected to the internet."
