Apple Pencil 1st Gen and iPad 10

I just bought the iPad 10. I already owned a 1st gen Apple Pencil, so I went to the apple store today to pick the new adapter USB-c to lightning. The USB-c works fine but my Apple Pencil doesn’t fit in the lighting side (I double checked it is the lightning side) it seems to be to big. Is there anything I can do?

Hi Bookish_Ellie,

Thank you for clarifying further, we may have identified the issue. The specific adapter you will need is the following:

USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter - Apple

Is that the adapter that you purchased? If not, we would advise to exchange the adapter that you purchased.

Cheers!

Hi Bookish_Ellie,

Since an Apple Pencil (1st generation) should fit on your iPad (10th generation), double-check that there’s nothing blocking it. We’re recommending this based on this thread: Pencil suddenly doesn’t fit iPad - Apple Community

If nothing is blocking it, you’ll need to have it inspected for any physical issues. You may be able to locate an Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider using this link: Find Locations - Apple
