Hello I woke up to this weird mute icon on my Mac screen. I've had to restart my system a couple of time but it remains there. How do I fix this?

It's not Voice Control. The icon wouldn't be red.
Install EtreCheck and post the report. Allow Full Disk Access.
Use the Additional Text icon to paste in the report.

Does it appear when in Safe Mode? If not, it is something you have installed.
Did you check the settings in Zoom itself? What happens if you enable Zoom in the Microphone settings? That could be an icon letting you know Zoom has no access to the microphone. Since I don't have Zoom installed, I wouldn't know.
Right off the top I see you have Zoom and WhatsApp installed. I don't have either but since Zoom does have audio along with video I would check the Zoom settings.

Hello again. I've checked my system and can't remember installing anything lately. I've also updated my OS but the icon remains on my screen.
