Airpods Pro 2 struggles (Connecting/Discord calls)

I got Airpods Pro 2 a few months back, but have an absolutely abysmal time trying to use them with discord.

They work decently okay with everything else, I can call and facetime like normal, they struggle to automatically connect to my iPhone after I used them on my Mac or iPad, but that's all within the "flaky bluetooth headphone device" territory.

Except when it comes to Discord. When I try and join a voice chat on Discord, the airpods do the following, always but in random order, through multiple attempts: they disconnect from my phone entirely, reconnect, ANC stops working, passthrough starts blasting full volume, only one of them connects. Again, this happens in random orders, every time I try to join.

It's gotten to a point where I don't even want to use them anymore. I already reset them twice. I'm so confused why this is such an issue, because my old 2nd gen Airpods had no issues with discord.

Anyone else run into this? Or are my airpods just faulty? They're still within warranty.
