iCloud and Notes

I can't see Notes from my phone on my Mac. I've tried everything I can think of. Rebooting, turning on, applying, syncing. Except one thing, turning off iCloud for notes and back on. My hesitation is loosing my notes.

Recommendations?

MacBook Air 13″, OS X 10.10

Hi Daryl Downey,

Let's check where you have your notes saved. They should be listed in the sections called "iCloud". If not, they will not, they will be synced by email. If you sync them to email, that email account will have to be set up on both iPhone and your Mac. It will also have to be enabled to sync the notes.

From iPhone, check where the notes are synced. Open Notes app. This is where you will see your Folders listed. If the notes are synced from other accounts. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts, and choose the account and make sure the Notes button is on. From your Mac, go to System Settings or System preferences > Internet Accounts and check that Notes button is enabled.

If this continues, it would be best continue to work with Apple Support.

Hey Daryl Downey,

It sounds like you've done all you can to troubleshoot this issue, with no success. The next step is to contact Apple Support, so they can dig into this issue further.

Contact Apple Support

We'd advise to check at the iCloud website > Notes, to verify if the missing notes are shown there. This will help Apple Support to determine where the disconnect may be.

We wish you the best.

Thanks, I only have the two Apple devices. Phone support had me "Move" the ones on my phone to a new folder in "Folders", but anything I create "On My iPhone" will not propagate nor will anything I create on my computer propagate to my phone in said folder. I have jumped through all the hoops in "Set up iCloud for Notes" on both devices, tried syncing but nothing works...

I do have the work around to create my iPhone notes to the newly created "Folder".

Hello Daryl Downey,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

In order to get a sense of what's happening, could you please confirm if you have any other Apple devices? If so, do those devices see the Notes or do they experience a similar issue?

If you login to the iCloud website, do you see your Notes on there? iCloud

If so, you'll want to go through these steps to ensure that everything is set up correctly for syncing them to your other devices: Set up iCloud for Notes on all your devices - Apple Support

Hope this helps!
