Different apple ID for app store (two Apple IDs)

Hi,

I originally start using the App Store with an old email of mine. I then opened an apple ID with an @me.com address.

So now I have all my purchases and subscriptions to my old email apple id, and my icloud+ subscription (and all that's included with it) with my @me.com apple id.

This is a mess. I have to maintain that old email of mine just for this reason.

Why doesn't Apple allow us to transfer purchases and subscriptions made in the app store, to another apple id?

Apple's documentation doesn't provide a reason why this is so. I suggest you contact them and ask:

Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.
