WhatsApp keeps crashing on iPhone 13 Pro Max

Finally I found that the issue is using iCloud Drive along with WhatsApp .. just before my WhatsApp started crashing I had selected a file from iCloud Drive and shared it via WhatsApp

to resolve this issue .. I reinstalled whatsapp without restoring back up from iCloud Drive .. lost all history data but whatsapp is working now 😔

that did the trick for me, too!

1. Backup, if still possible
2. delete App
3. restart phone
4. renew Face ID, passcode, I even changed the apple pw, don't know if it had an influence
5. re-install WhatsApp

I first tried renewing Face ID and passcode, then restarted the phone, then reinstalled WhatsApp, which did NOT work. Also not with WhatsApp Business. It seems the renewal of FaceID, passcode and so on has to be right before reinstalling WhatsApp without being interrupted by a phone-restart.

After trying everything available on any thread across forums, I finally got WA on my iPhone 13 working fine!!! This has been working for me for a month now!! I was waiting to see how long it would take, and so far (touchwood!) all's been well.

• I added a new SIM/phone number to my phone
• Took the iCloud backup for existing WA and deleted the app after that
• Reinstalled the app, this time started afresh with the new phone number.
• Deleted the app again
• Reinstalled the app, restored my old phone number
• Voila! It stopped crashing.

Now, for details, my new number did not have any chat backup to screw up from. So, it kind of got disconnected from iCloud. I pray hard enough every day that it continues to work flawlessly as it does finally, because I know how much pain it is. I had done multiple loops of going through WA support (which was useless), writing to Apple, following people of forum, basically been in a mess, regretting the upgrade.

So far, so good. Worth a try.

Not able to take the backup as the app crashes in between the process

Follow these steps surely it will resolve the problem of WhatsApp crashing

1 ) Backup your Whatsup data upto date and then delete the app

2) Change your mobile passcode and reset Face ID

3 ) reinstall the WhatsApp it’s work fine

Hi, yes its really works, follow the step u provided, everything work fine, but just curious why WhatsApp business does it related to change Face ID and passcode ID ? Bug issue ? Thx for the helpful tips, u save my life

This works definitely, only issue is if chats are not backup everyday like me then we tend to loose 3-4 days chat depending on last backup.

My wats app is getting hang most of the time and sometimes it crashes takes me back to the Home Screen I did install and reinstall twice but the problem is not solved having problem only with only with wats app application. Pls guide and help

WhatsApp works on and off. One fix works and then stops working. There seems to be an issue many times when there is an update to whatsapp or to IOS. The only way I can use Whatsapp on my phone is to turn off the internet, read and write all responses and then turn the internet back on and the responses for out and new messages come in. Just crazy. It doesn't matter is I have Wifi or Mobile Data on, one or both , it just wont work and freezes after about 20 seconds or less. So this is my work around until one of these providers decides to make sure the two can work together. It seems to me that Whatsapp (Facebook) and Apple are not really interested in making sure their products work together. This has been going on for months!

I use iphone 13 pro and since 2 days whatsapp has been crashing i opened the app then it says “we couldn’t send an sms to yr no.& try again in 1 hour “ i was delete the app & re install it but same sms. What can i do now?

I have been facing the same issue on my 13 pro max. I believe our iCloud data is corrupted. I tried to restore chats on my another phone and it did worked for a while but as soon as all the chats came back from the backup it started crashing. I believe to make your what’s app work there is only 1 way that is clearing all the chats. Maybe the chats data is corrupted. I am using WA Business on 13 Pro Max and I started facing this issue since 2 weeks now.
