iPhone 14 Plus iOS 16.4 Battery Drain

I recently purchased an iPhone 14 Plus and updated it to iOS 16.4. However, since the update, I have noticed a significant decrease in battery life. My phone is draining its battery much faster than before, even when I am not actively using it.

I have tried restarting my iPhone and checking the battery usage stats to see which apps are consuming the most power. I have also disabled background app refresh and location services for apps that I don't use frequently. Unfortunately, these steps have not resolved the issue.

I am reaching out to the Apple community section for assistance in resolving this problem. Has anyone else experienced similar battery drain issues after updating to iOS 16.4? If so, have you found any solutions or workarounds? Apple should take necessary actions. why a trustable company do like this to its customers?

I appreciate your suggestion that the battery drain may be due to behind the scenes tasks that the phone is completing after the update. I will keep an eye on my battery usage over the next day or so to see if it improves.

However, I have also noticed that my phone is draining battery even when it is not in use or in standby mode. I have disabled background app refresh and location services for apps that I don't use frequently, but the battery drain issue still persists.

Do you have any other suggestions for resolving this issue, or is it possible that there may be a hardware problem with my device?

I did the same thing. And I’m regretting that decision! I wish Apple would address the battery drain issue over giving us emojis or access to sports news.

Agreed. The day I get a new phone, no more iOS updates for me. The more bells and whistles, the more problems.

Yup! I feel your pain - similar performance. My battery health is at 90%. Can I ask what yours is? Do you think that may be a factor?

My battery health prior to the 16.4.1 mine was 99% and as of today it is 96%.

I complain to Apple every week on the Apple Feedback site… since 16.4 update. Did so again 2 hours ago. I have no faith in Apple. Seriously looking at Android for next phone. Sad.

I’ve never had any issues with my iPhone until 16.4. This has soured me… but, If I do end up with another iPhone, I’ll never download an iOS update. I don’t believe all the security patch warnings.

That's awful, rak1rak. I can't imagine why Apple is apparently not even acknowledging the problem, let alone working to solve it.

It might be worthwhile restoring your iPhone using a computer. That's the method that worked for me.

That’s great! Didn’t work for me. One last time to Genius Bar next week to see if there’s any hope if they try with a Mac. If not… time to say goodbye to my iPhone 8 Plus. 😢
