iPad Extended Desktop not working

I have been happily using my new iPad Pro M2 with an external display to extend (not mirror) my desktop. However since updating to 16.4 last night my external monitor only mirrors the iPad screen.

Has Apple disabled this amazing feature or is there a new (and seemingly not obvious) way to set it up?

Still an issue with me, IPad Pro M2 11inch only mirroring on certain displays… On IPADOS 17!!! So frustrating, when will this bug be fixed?

Ok, YES! I have the same problem with my iPad Pro 11” (4th generation) on iPadOS 17.5.1. I tried to connect it to my onn. 24” monitor (by HDMI and a VGA/HDMI adapter) but it doesn’t have the option to extend, it only mirrors. However though, the feature works just fine (note that I have also connected a Gofreetech mouse and keyboard to the iPad as well) on OTHER TVs. The feature worked just fine on an older Samsung TV, an Insignia Fire TV, and another Insignia. But, even though I use the SAME cord and USB hub (onn. 8 in 1 hub) the problem continues. I hope Apple fixes the problem soon, or any of you have an answer.

I’VE GOT THE SOLUTION!!!!! As I said in my other post, only certain displays worked. So, when I connect it to the onn. monitor, it says “HDMI” and A LOWER resolution than 1920/1080. AND we know that 1920/1080 and better 16:9 displays work. SO, whatever the problem may be (whether it is the device, the monitor, the adapter, or the cord), something is messed up. SO, here’s my question for you: How do I change the resolution on my monitor, or iPad so it does 1920/1080.
