AppleTV Flapping Wired Network Interface / Wifi Radio not REALLY disabled

If you are reading this you probably have a high quality managed network switch and you noticed your AppleTV network interface is flapping every few minutes while the AppleTV is turned off. A massive number of people have complained about it over the years and Apple just locks the thread; thus my need to create a new one.

First, if it is just the switch logs that bother you, with managed switches like Cisco, you can turn off the link-status logging.

Second, if Apple has not fixed it by now, its because it's very important to them that it come online every few minutes to phone-home.

Last, what you really should be asking, is how do I disable the 802.11 wifi radios. If you are using wired ethernet you probably don't want, what is likely the most high powered RF device in your home, spewing out microwaves.

I challenge anyone to prove my thesis wrong. Literally makes me sick the abuse consumers take from manufactures without even knowing it.
