Voice messages and audio muffled in Imessage

HI!

I detected that the audios and messages that I record with Imessage as with memoji and such come out with a muffled sound because are being recorded with the back microphone, the one in the cameras, because if I record with another app or in the notes everything works ok.

I guessed so I tried recording putting my mouth closer to the cameras and the sound is better, still muffled but clearer.

Does anyone have any idea how can I fix this?

Hi sarole,

We'll be glad to help you out. While it wouldn't be possible to definitively answer this remotely, if it's isolated to that one microphone there's likely something blocking it. If you have any cases or screen protectors on the device, those could be interfering. There could also be some sort of debris blocking it as well. We'd recommend trying some steps outlined in If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working - Apple Support

Aside from that, there could also be a physical issue with the microphone itself. If that's the case, you may need to have your device inspected at an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. You can locate your nearest service provider and set up service by using the site: Find Locations - Apple
