Family sharing with Android

Trying to set up Apple Music for the family. Trying to add my husband to family sharing who is on android. Will only give the option of text and is a message send failure each time. I can text him anything else though. Help!

It sounds like you are having an issue with sending a Family Sharing invitation to someone that is using an Android device. We're here to help.


Follow the steps below for help sending the invitation to the android user.



Accept an invitation to a family group and share their Apple Music subscription


  1. "Download the Apple Music app from Google Play to your Android device.
  2. On your Android device, open the email invitation to join Family Sharing.
  3. Tap the link in the email invitation.
  4. In the "Open with" screen, tap Apple Music.
  5. Tap Accept.
  6. Sign in with your Apple ID and password."


Invite people to join your family group and share your subscription


  1. On your Android device, open the Apple Music app.
  2. Tap the More button the More button.
  3. Tap Account.
  4. Tap Manage Family.
  5. Tap Add Family Member.
  6. Share your Apple Music subscription
  7. Enter a name or email address.
  8. Tap Send."
