See Upgrade to the new Home architecture - Apple Support. It isn't clear from that document, but if you upgrade to the new Home architecture it is only visible to devices running iOS 16.2, or macOS 13.1 Ventura or better.

My wife’s iPod has been showing that configuring for days. However nothing shows up on the Mac it’s strictly a blank screen that says entertainment room. That’s the new room I set up on the Mac after Apple told me to delete the other room on the Mac. So basically everything is at a standstill. New twist I am at my daughters house and looked at her Home App. She’s in limbo also as I had her on my home screen so she could access my HomePods when she was visiting. Her message states until all the home App Store updated she can’t do anything either. What a mess. Thank you Apple for allowing an upgrade on products that could not take the upgrade.

I’m glad to see we are all on the same page. I have tried everything that everyone has suggested already. It’s just not working. I am going to start with my iPhone 7 and completely reset and reload factory software and see how that goes. As far as my wife’s iPod seven, I can’t do anything with that as I stated before still shows HomePods configuring but that has been going on for a week and a half. Thanks so much I will keep you all posted when I get back from vacation.

Back from Vacation. My daughters' iPhone 14 updated and she no longer has my room message. She is clear. So My M1 MacBook Pro has the new upgrade but cannot see the home pods in it. I can reach them from the mac and the 3 mobile devices but can't join them for stereo pair. Same for the music app on the Mac, shows the 2 home pods but can't join them as stereo pair. Tried going back into time machine to get the old Home App but does not show up. Guess because it's system software. Any ideas?

I use the iPhone as a wi-fi device. My wife and I don't use phones. We communicate with the iPods as do my kids with us. I know it's strange in this day and age. I have been using a Mac since 1986 (yes am old) and have worked in the printing industry where Mac's are king. I have used the restore option many times before. So if i restore the venture OS it should not have the upgrade in it for home kit. I will try that option in the next few days. Thanks for your input.
