Why do you I hear a knocking on wood type of sound when I am on the phone with other iPhone users? Does anyone else have this problem? It is very annoying I tried iPhone reset and carrier and hardware and no luck

So I’ve been having the same issue, I thought my friend I talk to all the time was doing major remodeling. Anyway, I also have Mint, so today I tried turning WiFi calling off and that seems to work, I’ve been on the phone for a few hours and the hammering is gone. Give it a try!
Im so happy this is here! I was talking to someone and they said they hear constant knocks on wood when I got silent. I couldn’t hear it through my end!!! So scary!!! Y’all gotta figure the reason and how to stop that asap!!!! Could be someone tryna spyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!
Anyone still having these issues? It went away for about 3 weeks and then on one call this morning 1 minute into my conversation I hear the steady paced knocking sound again like it was someone knocking on wood. Need to keep this thread alive please comment if you still experience it and details of when and how
Me too…. on the phone with my boyfriend and i start to hear knocking on his end as if someone was knocking on the wall from the room nextdoor. He couldn’t hear it, so i thoguht i was going crazy but i’m glad i found this thread. We’ve watched a few horror movies the past few days so we were quite spooked lol. Super weird, such a clear and distinct knocking on wood sound. Never happened to me before but i do have t mobile as well.
I'm having the same knocking issue on my iPhone 11 pro and T mobile. I'm also using a headset and can hear the sound with or w/o the headset. It doesn't sound a knock on wood to me. More mechanical but I'm sure its the same thing. Any help?
I am not fear mongering at all. That is not my intention. I am just stating the very likely possibility. With so many phone calls to the phone service providers, & they are unable to “find anything.” Even a mild Google search will lead to the same conclusion.
I don’t think that you quite understood the point that I was trying to make, but I digress. Continue exploring for the answers that neither Apple or the cell providers are unable to assist you with. I am talking from experience, because the same thing happened to me.
Absolutely. The same thing that is described in this thread was happening to me for a couple of years. Went to Apple, reached out to the cell providers. Received the exact same info that they are telling you all.
Everyone our best bet to get professional help is to keep it professional and only share experiences and the type of phone and network and the more comments maybe it will be seen and something done about it. Thanks
Hello All, checking in to see if anyone is still having this problem. I’m on an IPhone 13 Pro with T Mobile and the knocking is still happening. It’s been about a year now and no changes. It does not happen with android users or businesses or 1800 numbers or anything else. Just with friends not even with my own family who also have iPhones in t mobile.
How is everyone coping with this knocking sound? Have you switched providers? Do you spend less time on the phone now? Is it still happening?
Yes, I still have it and it's actually gotten worse. I can occasionally hear it while I'm talking with someone and they are holding the phone to their ear. ( not on speaker phone). That being said it's only mildly irritating to me. It's not worth switching carriers.
Interesting, I never had an issue with FaceTime it was only the network or phone for T mobile. Unsure at this point if people made the switch or not but it’s still happening to me not on all calls but some for sure.
I have T-mobile and I hear it too! The first few times, I thought the person I was talking to was knocking on something in the background. However I’ve heard it more recently on almost every call I’m on.
I'm really not trying to be snarky but, what good "keeping this thread alive" do? It is highly unlikely that TMobile is paying any attention. As it seems to be a problem with their network, they are the only ones who can do anything should they decide to.
I have the same issue exactly. I phone 13 T mobile past 8 months. It sound like a wooden clipboard with paper on it.It is distracting and disruptive. Glad I’m not alone. I hope there is some solution to the problem
Regardless of the Iphone I get I tend to get I have had this issue I also have the Iphone 13 and use T-Mobile and the knocking never stops for me unless the person starts to talk but when it’s quiet I can’t stop hearing it. Can someone let me know if they find a reason to this?
