Why do you I hear a knocking on wood type of sound when I am on the phone with other iPhone users? Does anyone else have this problem? It is very annoying I tried iPhone reset and carrier and hardware and no luck

So I’ve been having the same issue, I thought my friend I talk to all the time was doing major remodeling. Anyway, I also have Mint, so today I tried turning WiFi calling off and that seems to work, I’ve been on the phone for a few hours and the hammering is gone. Give it a try!
Happening to me to. Have T-Mobile iPhone 12 Pro for over a year and just started happening to me. The person on the other end can’t hear it. I recorded it with my tablet, but the other day when I mentioned i was going to record it, it suddenly stopped!!! After happening on and off during the conversation
For me it sounded like cheeks getting clapped idk if was an iPhone problem but I was talking to my girl and it would be off and on steady clapping I thought she was cheating but then I heard it on a voicemail when I was supposed to leave a message
I’m so glad I found this. I’m having issues with my neighbors or something because I keep hearing weird sounds around my house and people talking and seeing weird things through my security cameras. I was hit on the head with a rock one night. my neighbors hate me., that alone is enough but the knocking sound on my iPhone 12 Happened the first time when I was watching my security camera so I thought it was coming from that and that my neighbors were doing some thing to my house. The noise started happening randomly and it’s been about three months now it happened today when I was talking to my mom. I told my mom about it and I think she thinks I am hallucinating. It’s three Knocks and a long pause followed by three knocks. Over and over. it’s always the same. It sounds like someone’s hammering on wood. I have boost and no mental health issues. Lol.
Yes! It sounds exactly like hammering in the background. When I first heard it I asked my friend if someone was hammering something outside his house and he said no. Then it happened again on a different call.
My iPhone 13 Pro was doing this for the entire 2 years I had it & I just upgraded to the 15 pro & it’s now happening again! Absolutely annoying & beyond frustrating when trying to have a phone conversation!
Exactly what’s happened to me, TMobile, iPhone 12 max pro. Sometimes the knocking is soft. Sometimes it gets louder and different tones. Exactly what’s happening to you and as soon as someone makes noise on the other end or starts talking, it stops soon as it’s quiet it starts up again. I almost feel like I’m being spied on. Did you find an answer to help?
I have this very issue, tap, tap, tap. It is absolutely annoying. I see many on here saying they have the same problem, however, I see nothing on how to fix it. I am a T-mobile customer and thought my phone was tapped.
Yes! So glad to find this thread, was starting to feel like a crazy person. This only really seems to happen when I'm talking to my boyfriend, and it isn't all the time, but definitely around 50% of the time. I can't figure out any rhyme or reason to why it happens when it does. I thought he had a secret handyman coming around doing repairs. :-D
